Mediterranean Picnic

Nothing says that spring is in full swing quite like a picnic. April 23rd is National Picnic Day, and we recommend celebrating with cuisine that’s perfectly tailored to portability and snacking—a Mediterranean picnic feast. It’s simple—just prep and pack your favorite nibbles and dips in a variety of Whiskware™ Snacking Containers. Our go-to nibbles include fresh vegetable sticks (cucumber, carrot, red bell pepper), mini heirloom tomatoes, assorted marinated olives, and various sliced meats and cheeses. For dips, grab store-bought hummus or baba ganoush, and whip up this simple feta dip:


Serving Size: 2

10 ounces crumbled feta cheese

3 ounces cream cheese, softened

3 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon honey

1/2 cup English cucumber, finely chopped

3/4 cup sundried tomato, finely chopped

1 1/2 tablespoons chives, finely chopped

10 fresh basil leaves, finely chopped



Mix feta, cream cheese, 1 tablespoon olive oil, and honey in a large bowl, using the back of a large spoon to press the cheese against the bowl and combine all ingredients. Add cucumbers, sun-dried tomato, chives, basil, and remaining olive oil and mix until combined. Transfer to Whiskware™ Snacking Container.


Finally, add plenty of fresh pita bread wedges, bottled sparkling water, and red or white wine, and your Mediterranean picnic basket is ready to go!
